The Grand Palace!
What about it?
Isn't it grand?
Well, that is the name, Captain.
It's not just one building, either. It's a cluster of buildings that include the home of the current monarch of Thailand, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, The Chapel of the Emerald Buddha, and is surrounded by 4 walls, each 1900 meters long! There are also some offices and other buildings inside.
But it also has a museum inside.
The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. This is a great place with air conditioning to visit after you've visited Wat Phra Kaew. Too bad you stayed home that day, Spike. I think you would have enjoyed it!
Hey, even tough little bulldogs have lazy days, you know!
Well, that means this post is all by me! The Grand Palace was built when King Rama I became king back in 1782. The current king is King Rama X.
It's hard to get a picture of the Emerald Buddha because pictures aren't allowed to be taken inside.
At the museum, pictures cannot be taken inside either. There are a lot of fashion and textiles to be seen. At the end, you can use stamps to create your own Thai-style batik pattern.
You can also play some games or take a quiz about what you saw in the museum!
What question did you miss?
If I knew, I wouldn't have missed it!
